The
night was ordinary, the moment extraordinary. In June 1792, while the
city of Ayodhya slept, Neelkanth, the 11-year old child yogi, resolved
to renounce the comforts of his home to awaken the world. Evoking this
heart - rending moment is the classically sung Bhoop, the king of Indian
Ragas. The clear, confident solo voice on a lonely, stormy night, emotionally
depicts the inner call of renunciation. |
